Starbucks Is Turning To A Type Of Workplace Training That ‘Really Took Off After Ferguson’

While not the first time the coffee giant has decided to close all of its company-owned stores, Starbucks’ move to have its entire workforce take part in what’s known as “unconscious bias” training underscores how important the company sees the addition of a type of training that has exploded in popularity in recent years.

The Restaurant Industry Ran A Private Poll On The Minimum Wage. It Did Not Go Well For Them.

A survey commissioned by the National Restaurant Association (NRA) found seven in 10 Americans back a minimum wage hike, even if it increases the cost of food and service. The information comes from a leaked NRA poll that, according to the left-leaning Intercept who wrote the story, “Is the first instance of a known national poll commissioned by the industry itself that shows how widely popular raising the minimum wage is and how small the opposition is, even though other published national surveys have shown a similar level of public support.”
